Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday, October 31. A lot of neighborhoods will trick-or-treat that night - but plenty of towns pick a different evening, often a Thursday or Friday the week before.
If you're planning costumes, candy runs, or a family visit across town lines, don't assume October 31. Local governments (or school districts, borough councils, and regional planners) set the hours, and they announce them on different calendars.
How to find your town's hours
- Open Trick or Treat Times and pick your state from the menu.
- Open your city page (or search by zip when you add/update a time).
- If nothing is listed yet, check back - we update as towns announce - or add the hours yourself once they're official.
Why some towns aren't on Halloween night
Common reasons: school nights, weekend travel, weather flexibility, or a regional “Beggars' Night” tradition (especially in parts of Ohio). We cover that in Beggars' Night Explained.
